Our journey began with George Postlethwaite, a skilled local carpenter who extended his craftsmanship and compassion to caring for families in their most difficult times. George's commitment to the community is reflected in every aspect of our service, and his legacy lives on—symbolised by the handmade table he crafted, which still stands in our arranging room today.
This tradition of care was passed down to George's son, Geoff, who continued to uphold the values of dignity, respect, and personalised attention. Today, Alan Postlethwaite, alongside his wife Helen, carries forward this family legacy. Together, they ensure that every family receives the same level of care and compassion that has been a hallmark of our service for decades.
In 2015, Alan moved the business to new premises on Windermere Road, offering a spacious, warm, and homely environment for families. This new location reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the very best for those we serve, ensuring comfort and peace of mind in a welcoming setting.
From traditional paging from the home of the deceased to offering guidance and support throughout the funeral process, we are here for you every step of the way.
